Dive Into the Frontier of High-Energy Physics & Astrophysics!
Are you a 6th-semester IFI or IDM student eager to apply your skills to real-world scientific discovery? Join our Junior Research Program and become part of cutting-edge projects in High-Energy Physics and Astrophysics!
We're offering a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced researchers on topics that probe the fundamental nature of matter, energy, space, and time. From analyzing particle collision data to decoding cosmic signals, you'll gain hands-on experience with advanced tools, data workflows, and collaborative science.
No prior research experience? No problem. We’re looking for curiosity, drive, and a passion for learning. Our program is designed to be a launchpad — not just for academic growth, but for your journey into the world of big science.
✨ Limited spots. Big impact.

What You'll Be Doing
As a junior research assistant, you’ll work closely with scientists on real, ongoing projects in high-energy physics and astrophysics. Your responsibilities will include:
-
Assisting in data processing and analysis, primarily using Python
-
Supporting the development of code and scripts for research workflows
-
Helping to collect and organize scientific literature relevant to ongoing studies
-
Participating in group meetings, discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities
You don’t need to be an expert in Python — a solid foundation and the willingness to learn is more than enough. We value initiative, curiosity, and the ability to work collaboratively far more than perfect technical knowledge.
This is a great chance to apply what you've learned in your courses, gain practical experience, and contribute to groundbreaking scientific research — all while growing your skills in a supportive environment.
Why English?
In high-energy physics and astrophysics, English is the universal language of science. From research papers to international collaborations, most communication, documentation, and tools are in English. While this opportunity is local, we encourage students to engage with the global scientific community—and using English from the start helps prepare you for that. This is why our materials and communications, including this call, are presented in English.
However, day-to-day interaction and support will be in Spanish, so don’t worry—language will not be a barrier to your participation.
