Searching for a Solution to Contain the Increasingly Dangerous Dengue Fever
highlight_off

Dengue is a viral infectious disease present in more than 30 countries worldwide, a number that has been increasing over the years due to global warming and the adaptability of its vectors—the mosquito. As the planet warms, the areas where mosquitoes can thrive expand, making it increasingly difficult to contain the spread of dengue.
Our team considers dengue a significant threat to global health, as its spread shows no signs of slowing down. For this reason, this case study aims to identify the factors that make a community vulnerable to dengue and to propose new solutions to this global problem. Our goal is to identify a community where dengue poses a significant threat and conduct field research to understand the various reasons why some communities are more vulnerable than others including location, socioeconomic status, customs, and lifestyle.
This research is a comprehensive investigation that will include fieldwork, laboratory work, scientific writing, and presentation of data at national and international academic meetings.
